The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

Book by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson
Music and Lyrics by Carol Hall

July 16 - August 2

Pull on your cowboy hats and two steppin’ boots, ‘cause you won’t want to miss the CRT debut of one of America’s best loved musicals! This foot-stompin’, yee-hawin’, musical is based on the true story of a legendary brothel known as the “Chicken Ranch” (so named because during the depression, customers were allowed to pay with poultry!)

For years the ladies operated peaceably, visited by locals, politicians, and even winning college football teams. But in 1973 a crusading Houston television commentator smells a place in the spotlight for himself and sets about closing down all that "loveless copulation"!

"A font of fun and friendliness, engagingly rich in regional nostalgia and spiced with delicate bawdry. The country western score is a delight."---Time Magazine.
